'Care for the Family' event

Motherhood - A Roller Coaster Ride
Kassam Stadium, Oxford
Thursday 3 December 7.30pm

Care for the Family is an organisation, established for 21 years, involved in strengthening family life and helping those struggling due to family breakdown.

Care for the Family runs events and courses across the UK and have many resources that cover issues such as parenting, marriage, step-family life, bereavement, debt, helping children with additional needs, drug awareness, financial budgeting, stress survival etc.

This will be a chatshow, multimedia style evening, suitable for all: Mums with children, from toddlers to teens and beyond.

It will be an opportunity to reassure them they are not alone and have nothing to prove. It will remind them to pick battles and put strategies in place, but be realistic.

It will be a time to laugh lots and learn tips on making it through the toddler years right through to how to interpret the grunts of the teenager and survive the harder times. It will also be an opportunity to access resources most suitable to their individual needs.

Oxford Brookes Babylab is carrying out research in child development.

We are recruiting families with children aged between 3 months and 4 years of age.

We hold monthly coffee mornings, on the last Thursday of every month
between 9.30am and 12.00, for parents to come along for coffee, cakes and
play, and a chat with our researchers.

We are specifically looking for parents of babies between 10-14 months old
to get involved in our current study of how babies begin to categorise
objects in the world around them and how language helps them with this.
However, we will be conducting further studies with children from a wide
range of age groups in the near future so anyone interested in getting
their kids involved should just come along to one of the events or
register through our Babylab website.

Babytalks
Babytalks are very informal discussions around age old debates in
child development and parents are welcome to bring their little ones
along too.
